Since former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, she has remained silent on most matters. Only coming out for the occasional award or speech, many were wondering if Clinton was finally done with politics.
But while her future in politics might still be unknown, the former Secretary of State recently announced the upcoming release of her new book, co-written with Louise Penny, which is set to hit shelves on October 12. And if you were wondering if it was another piece about her life or the 2016 election, it appears Clinton is dabbling in the world of fiction.
Making the announcement on Twitter, Clinton wrote, “My first foray into fiction! It was a labor of love with my friend (and favorite mystery author) Louise Penny, and I can’t wait for you to read it. Pre-order “State of Terror” now to dive in as soon as it’s released next Tuesday, October 12.”
Although Clinton didn’t add a premise about her novel, users didn’t seem to mind as they were more interested in the fact she was writing fiction. One user blatantly asked, “First foray into fiction? Your entire political career and subsequent books were all based on fiction! Is this claim your first foray into stand-up comedy?”

RedState senior editor Joe Cunningham responded to the Democratic icon, “Your first foray into fiction was the idea the 2016 election was stolen from you.”
As for what State of Terror is about, it seems the novel follows a young Secretary of State who joins the administration of her rival. Due to a series of terrorist attacks, which throws the world into disarray, the Secretary of State is tasked with creating a team that will unravel the sophisticated conspiracy designed to exploit the American government.

Although the book isn’t set to be released until next week, online reviews have already started to sprout up. As of now, the novel sits at a 2.91 rating on the website Goodreads, which is a hub for both writers and readers to discuss literature.
