Republican state governments continue to fight back against the medical tyranny pressed upon Americans by leftist elites. A recent bill passed by Tennessee lawmakers prohibits government agencies and private businesses from adopting or enforcing rules that fail to recognize the natural immunity of those who contracted COVID-19. 

Under the new legislation, Tennessee residents with natural immunity must be considered just as protected from COVID-19 compared to those who are vaccinated. That means concert venues, restaurants, bars, or any other establishment within the state cannot discriminate against those who refused to get Fauci’s experimental mRNA vaccination. 

The Tennessee bill states the following: 

“The immune protection gained from a prior COVID-19 infection is at least as protective against COVID-19 as a COVID-19 vaccine. There is, therefore, no rational basis to treat individuals who have had a previous COVID-19 infection differently than individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine.”

Under the new law, if a government agency or private company requires COVID-19 immunity, Tennessee residents may submit a letter from a licensed physician or documentation from a lab to prove prior infection.  

Such common-sense legislation should be forwarded by all conservatives, even at the federal level. If anything, the legislation does not go far enough. Government and private agencies should not have the ability to inhibit the interactions of free citizens on the basis of exposure to the China virus, whether that be from an mRNA vaccine or the virus itself. 

Despite the benign nature of the bill, RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) in Tennessee did their best to stop it from passing. Before Tennessee legislators passed the bill, Republican Governor Bill Lee told the media he would not sign it into law. Governor Bill Lee gave the following reason for not supporting the legislation: 

“I write to inform you that I am letting S.B. 1982 / HB 1871 become law without my signature. Although I agree that individuals with acquired immunity should be treated the same as individuals who are vaccinated against COVID-19, this bill imposes a business mandate, and businesses should be allowed to operate without undue government interference.”

To a certain extent, the Governor’s concerns seem legitimate as it is always good to be skeptical of government involvement in private businesses. However, there are certain discriminatory practices that businesses cannot engage in because they violate our Constitution.

The U.S. Constitution that prevents racial segregation should also prevent medical segregation. Therefore, the Tennessee Governor’s reasoning is ill-founded. 

Governor Bill Lee may not have supported the bill, but it was still passed and enacted into law via the state legislature’s Republican supermajority. These state laws that give medical freedom back to Americans are vital in reclaiming liberties lost under leftist medical tyranny.
