Minneapolis School Districts Mandate White Teachers Be Laid Off Before Any Minority Teachers

Democratic elites have historically been in control of teacher unions across the United States and have continually failed at properly educating America’s youth. However, these teacher unions have become far more dangerous to Americans as they promote racist ideas found in critical race theory. This was recently seen in agreement [1] between the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers union and the state’s school districts that mandates white teachers be laid off before “teachers of color,” no matter what the circumstances are.  

The racist agreement was reached following a two-week teacher strike last spring. Minneapolis Federation of Teachers now prescribes the following guidelines when laying off teachers:  

“If excessing [laying off] a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the district shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population.” 

Now, if a Minneapolis school district experiences a drop in funding or student enrollment, white teachers will be fired first. This policy is racist as it discriminates between teachers on the basis of their skin tone, not on how well they perform their job. Therefore, students will learn from teachers who condone these racist notions by nature of their membership in these corrupt teacher unions. These students will also suffer academically as, inevitably, school districts will fire some of their best teachers in order to promote “diversity.”

The Minneapolis Federation of Teacher’s also outlines a racist policy when reinstating teachers:  

“The District shall prioritize the recall of a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the district.” 

Under such a policy, a school district will rehire teachers who have proven to be ineffective educators, as long as they are a member of a minority group, rather than rehiring white teachers.  

While any rational person can acknowledge that this is a clear act of racism, leftist intellectuals do not agree. Under the dogma of critical race theory, they believe that it is impossible to be racist against white people because, to be racist, one must be in a position of power over minority groups. Therefore, according to leftists, it is impossible for minorities to be racist as they possess no power, an idea which itself is racist.  

This definition of racism was even seen in Home Depot’s [2] employee human resource materials. Obviously, this is socialist academia nonsense, but it is highly disturbing how fast it has spread across the United States.  

The Minneapolis Federation of Teachers and Minneapolis school district officials do not try to hide their critical race theory ambitions. A spokesperson for Minneapolis Public Schools stated the following on the recent agreement with the teacher union:  

“To remedy the continuing effects of past discrimination, Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) mutually agreed to contract language that aims to support the recruitment and retention of teachers from underrepresented groups as compared to the labor market and to the community served by the school district.” 

If you are a parent, you need to seriously consider where your child goes to school. It used to be that radical leftism was isolated to colleges, but it has quickly spread to all public education. Children should not be learning from teachers operating under a racist ethnic quota system as it instills discriminatory ideas in their young minds and leads to ineffectual education as good teachers are laid off due to the color of their skin rather than their ability to teach.
