Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd. That has been proven by the video, and Chauvin has been arrested and charged.
Derek Chauvin should pay for what he did to Floyd. However, innocent people should not pay for Floyd’s murder…
American Business Owners should NOT PAY!
Businesses across our nation are being destroyed by the riots. Reverend Al Sharpton even called out the rioters for the destruction…
“Some of the stores that are being damaged are black-owned stores!” Sharpton exclaimed. “So we cannot become so reckless that we are destroying each other in our rage.”
Here’s the problem with his statement…
AMERICAN businesses are being destroyed! The race of the business owner doesn’t matter. These are businesses that AMERICANS have spent their lives building, and now they’ve lost everything.
Rev. Al Sharpton…call for an end to the destruction of ALL businesses not just black-owned businesses. These business owners did not kill George Floyd.
Innocent Law Enforcement Officers should NOT PAY!
There were four officers involved in the killing of George Floyd, and all of those officers should be held accountable.
However, the hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers and other security personnel had absolutely nothing to do with Floyd’s death. Yet they are being targeted and violently attacked in major cities across America.
These men and women swore an oath to protect and serve, which they do every single day without hesitation. They put their own lives on the line to save ours, and they should not be hunted like wild animals for the bad acts of other officers.
Non-Violent Protesters should NOT PAY!
People are angry about what happened to George Floyd…and they should be!
The First Amendment protects our right to assemble and express our views through protest. However, we do not have the right to commit criminal acts during the protest.
The voices of the protesters are being drowned out by the rage of rioters that don’t care about George Floyd. They are criminals that are ransacking our cities, and they must be stopped.
Mainstream media should focus more on the cries of the protesters and less on the violence of the mob. The constant coverage of the riots and interviews with the violent rioters are fanning the flames instead of putting out the fire.
George Floyd’s Family should NOT PAY!
George Floyd’s girlfriend said that he would be “devastated” by the burning of Minneapolis. His death should not be memorialized by violence.
The amount of pain that Floyd’s family is experiencing is unfathomable, but then to see rioters perpetrating violence in what they claim is vengeance for his death only makes it worse.
Breaking store windows and stealing merchandise has nothing to do with George Floyd’s death. Burning down businesses and torching cars has nothing to do with George Floyd’s death. These are criminals and deviants taking advantage of a horrible situation.
So, what’s next?
Opportunistic leaders like Rev. Al Sharpton must stop using divisive language and encouraging the violence to continue with offhand remarks. Yes, we all know that he hates President Trump, but now is not the time to spew his venom toward the President or anyone else that doesn’t fall in line with his agenda.
Faith leaders across our country must stop being keyboard warriors making inflammatory statements followed by #GodHatesRacism. God hates ALL forms of “hate” including racism. Your congregations look to you for guidance not provocation that only further divides our country.
Democrats and Republicans must stand together to stop the violence. Unfortunately, many leaders on the left remain silent as American cities are burned to the ground, because their hate for President Trump and the Republican party outweighs their love for America.
As citizens of the United States, we are known for the last 3 letters of the word American…I CAN!
We are not known for I HATE you because of your race, religion, ethnicity, or any other differences. That is simply not who we are as a nation. We are better than that!
Instead of fighting each other, we must fight together to stop the hate, but this will involve stopping the violence and the people that are causing the division in our country. The future of America is at risk, but we hold the power in our hands to control our own destiny.
